Experienced Correctional Nurses

We connect correctional traveling nurses with facilities nationwide!

Thank you for your interest in Platinum Choice! We’re here to help staff your facility quickly and efficiently with experienced nurses.

Let us help fill your staffing gaps

PCS is headed by Paul G. Niznik, a staffing industry insider with 32+ years of experience. Between Paul, his staffing managers and nurse managers combined, you have the benefit of utilizing well over one hundred years of staffing industry experience. We work very hard to present our clients with the finest, most experienced corrections travel nurses and we want to earn your repeat business.

We are a professional staffing organization that takes the time to learn all of the details of exactly what role our client needs filled, and we find the nursing staff with the best experience for the job. Some of our competition simply “stack the bodies” – sending nurses with no experience in corrections at all, and in some cases, no nursing experience at all. Although we firmly believe that new nursing graduates are the health and future growth of the nursing profession, PCS works with only experienced correctional nurses to ensure the success of each placement.

Frequently Asked Questions

PCS offers our clients phone interviews so they have an opportunity to speak with our travel nurse before deciding to move forward.  Although phone interviews are not mandatory, we find them to be a spectacular tool for both our client and our travel nurse.  Valuable information is exchanged  between an HSA or DON of a facility and a prospective travel nurse when they have the opportunity to ask each other questions and discuss the facility’s needs.  Phone interviews are just one of the many tools we use to ensure a successful travel assignment for both our client and our nurse.

Absolutely not.  We are aware of some nursing agencies who invoice for a minimum amount of time even if the travel nurse’s assignment is cancelled. Those practices are less than honorable and you will not find them with PCS. If your facility hires it’s own staff and no longer needs the travel nurse, that is something to celebrate, not an occasion for an agency to punish your facility.

Of course. You might need 8 weeks. You might need 15 weeks. We are here to help your facility through any staffing challenges.

Rarely, but yes.  Every now and then we come across an applicant who has many years of nursing experience and previous to that, they worked in a correctional facility as a corrections officer for a number of years.  In that instance, we would consider the applicants nursing skills, examine their references and if we think we may be able to place them in a corrections travel assignment, we would discuss the entire matter with our client and see how they feel about the situation and if they would like to move forward with a phone interview with the nurse.  There are instances where we may consider a nurse for a corrections assignment without the nurse having experience working as a nurse in a correctional facility, but those instances are rare.
